Our Story
The tradition of drinking and eating establishments were to foster community and connect people across generations. The Rose Pub is no different. With our hand-crafted list of cocktails, beer & cider, delicious pub fare, as well as our casual and friendly atmosphere, we have proven again and again that we are the best pub in the Westshore since 2017.

We acknowledge
Our business resides on the ancestral lands of Teechamista and the Lekwungen-speaking people of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We are honoured to operate on these traditional lands, and are grateful for the opportunities this land has offered us.
The lands of the City of Colwood are defined by the 1850 Douglas Treaty with the Teechamitsa people. This house was built circa 1925 as a home for Charlie Goodall. In 1898, Charles H. Goodall and his brother Joshua H. established the Goodall Bros. Store; the first general store between Victoria and Cobble Hill. As business grew, they built a new store beside 592 Ledsham, which was considered the largest general store on Vancouver Island (circa 1912) and eventually included Colwood’s post office and in later years, a one stall gas station.
This house continued to be a residential building for future families, including The Barker Family, who called it home from 1950 to 1975, when it became a motorcycle repair shop.
In 1985, the house was bought by Judy and Richard Michaud who transformed the residence to Colwood’s new neighbourhood pub, The Country Rose Pub.
For 32 years, The Country Rose Pub had become a staple for many of its residents. In August of 2017, The Country Rose Pub was purchased by four ambitious entrepreneurs, whose goals were to revive an old pub and continue to bring quality food and pub service to its locals.
The Rose Neighbourhood Public House came to fruition in March of 2018. While the building has undergone various renovations and upgrades, it still preserves the original structure and charm of the home. With its inviting atmosphere and a beautiful backyard garden for extra seating, The Rose Pub aspires to serve its community for many more years to come.

patio STATUS: SOGGY
Unfortunately, it has come to that time where we will no longer be seating the grass area in our backyard.
If the sun is shining and not too cool, there will be some seats available on the brick to enjoy.
Otherwise, as the patio season comes to an end, we can look forward to cozying up for fun times inside the pub.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our back yard next season (usually around May long weekend).
Let the count down begin!
